Using this phone from last two weeks so I genuinely giving my feedback
Phone look good quality of body is too good ,charging speed is good it’s 20w speed ,durability is awesome,
Front Camera is ok ,back camera is not ok
Display quality is good but touching issue little bit u will feel that disturbance while using keyboard but it’s not much irritating ,
I thought it’s not for gamers
Sound quality good
Finally this phone budget wise good I’m satisfied with this budget and the features
Can’t expect more enough in this budget

Model: Nokia G42 5G TA-1586 DS 6/128
One star because of the experience in dealing with Amazon customer care, specialist support, Nokia customer care and technical support and Amazon Home services.
The phone on first power-on after unboxing had October 2023 as the OS version. Then it got updated to the December 2023 security patch.
All further checks for update just show that the “System is already up to date” and no other updates are available. Due to this, its still.stuck at Android 13 with December 2023 security patch. This is despite the latest available OS update as per the Nokia website is June 2024 security patch.
Tried many troubleshooting steps like clearing the storage and cache of some system apps and finally factory resetting the phone; but no change in the situation.
Called Nokia customer care and technical support; looks like they know customers have reported this issue previously but they are not openly disclosing what the actual problem is and are asking me to visit the service center.
Asked Amazon customer care for replacement, but there is no useful support from Amazon and they are washing their hands off saying the policy available for this phone is only brand service center replacement within 7 days. If Amazon is to issue refund or replacement, then I need to get a denial letter from the service center.
Called Nokia customer care again and they are adamant that I visit the service center and
This issue of a simple OTA update (that should “just work” out of the box) for a freshly unboxed phone on the first day itself should be eligible for a replacement from Amazon.
If I visit the Nokia service centre, they might have the tools to manually flash the latest OS rom image. But who knows this issue will occur again or not ?
This phone is supposed to get monthly security updates. So if the OTA updates are not working, are we to visit the service center every time to let them flash the newest updates ?
